The definitive television version of Daniel Defoe’s classic adventure story, The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe, will be released by Network on DVD on 18th June 2007.

Filmed extensively on location in the Canary Islands, the story follows Crusoe (distinctively played by Austrian actor Robert Huffman) in his quest for survival, and his subsequent adventures and education whilst stranded on a desert island.  Produced by Franco-London Films in 1964, The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe made its UK debut in 1965, and quickly became regarded as an essential part of children’s evening TV.

  • Archive interview with Robert Hoffman
  • Image Gallery
  • Merchandise Gallery
  • French audio track on selected episodes

The serial boasts feature film production values, fine location and evocative camera work, and a haunting and unforgettable music score which has been one of Silva Screen’s best selling titles for many years and is available now, priced at £8.95
