Recently available from Silva Screen are two more digital only additions to our collection of Alberto Iglesias scores.
The first of the two, is a score composed for a new version of the film “The Monk ( Le Moine)” based on a gothic novel written by Matthew G. Lewis. Composed by Alberto Iglesias and performed by the London Session Orchestra, the soundtrack follows the character Ambrosio through his dark descent into the underworld.
The second score composed by Alberto Iglesias was for the film “También La Lluvia” directed by Icíar Bollaín, about filmmaker Sebastian played by Gael Garcia Bernal, who travels to Bolivia to shoot a film about Christopher Columbus.
The plot follows a crew who find themselves arriving in Cochabamba during a water crisis where 2000 Cochabamba protest.
The lines between past and present, fiction and film, become increasingly blurred.
Alberto Iglesias won a Goya Award, which celebrates Spanish cinema, for Best Original Music in “También La Lluvia”.
