Ashes & Grace: Music
from the Soulsborne Worlds

London Music Works & Antonin Roux

Stream/Download

Ashes & Grace: Music from the Soulsborne Worlds, a new orchestral collection performed by London Music Works & Antonin Roux, bringing together music from some of the most influential dark-fantasy games of the modern era.

The album spans the interconnected musical worlds of Demon’s Souls, the Dark Souls trilogy, Bloodborne and Elden Ring, tracing more than a decade of haunting themes, monumental boss music and moments of unexpected stillness.

Across fourteen tracks, Ashes & Grace moves from the melancholy restraint of Firelink Shrine, Nameless Song and Majula to the overwhelming scale of Gwyn, Lord of Cinder, Soul of Cinder, Malenia, Blade of Miquella and The Final Battle.

The title reflects two recurring images at the heart of these worlds. Ash, fire and cinders run throughout the mythology and music of Dark Souls, while grace occupies a central place in the imagery of Elden Ring. Together, Ashes & Grace captures the balance that gives this music much of its power: ruin and beauty, violence and reflection, grandeur and fragility.

The collection opens with Demon’s Souls, composed by Shunsuke Kida, before moving into Motoi Sakuraba’s music for the first two Dark Souls games. Tracks including Firelink Shrine, Nameless Song, Gwyn, Lord of Cinder, Fire Keepers and Majula chart the series’ distinctive musical language, shifting between sparse, intimate writing and large-scale orchestral drama.

The journey continues with music by Yuka Kitamura from Dark Souls III, including the game’s title theme, Firelink Shrine and Soul of Cinder, before entering the world of Elden Ring. Here, Kitamura’s Malenia, Blade of Miquella sits alongside music by Tsukasa Saitoh, including Elden Ring and The Final Battle.

The album concludes in the gothic world of Bloodborne, with Saitoh’s Cleric Beast and The First Hunter, bringing the collection to a suitably dramatic close.

Rather than treating these scores simply as background to combat and exploration, Ashes & Grace places the music at the centre. Heard away from the games themselves, the pieces reveal a remarkable range, from solemn choral writing and sweeping orchestration to some of the quietest and most emotionally direct themes in modern game music.

Performed by London Music Works & Antonin Roux, the new recordings bring these compositions together as a single listening experience, creating a musical journey through fallen kingdoms, ruined cities and worlds suspended between death and renewal.
