The launch of Series 4 of acclaimed ITV series GRACE sees the release of Matthew Slater’s selected scores across all the series.

GRACE is an adaptation of international, bestselling author Peter James’ award winning novels, with over 21 million Grace novels having been sold to date.

John Simm is Brighton-based Detective Superintendent Roy Grace with Richie Campbell as DS Glenn Branson, Zoë Tapper as Cleo Morey, Craig Parkinson as DS Norman Potting and Laura Elphinstone as DS Bella Moy.

Composer Matthew Slater solves the world of GRACE straight from his success scoring the hugely popular ENDEAVOUR

The album strongly features the tonal colouring of cellist CAROLINE DALE as detailed by the composer –
“Caroline Dale has been a great collaborator and friend across my entire career in scoring drama, so when it came to deciding the instrumental voice of Roy Grace I immediately went to Caroline and the cello for his timbre. The core sound for all episodes of Grace centers around a series of textures and motifs created from solo cello, cello quartet and large string chamber ensemble. The beauty in Caroline’s performances both supports the tragedy in Grace’s life and the new love found.”

With the recent announcement of ITV commissioning a fifth series, the composer has already begun the scoring process –
“Peter James’ novels have allowed me to treat each episode of Grace in a standalone and non-episodic format, allowing me to create unique sound worlds for each distinct story. This has been a wonderful challenge for me as a composer and I hope supports the show and its audiences with fresh new ideas for every film.”

Grace is produced by Second Act Productions, Tall Story Pictures, both part of ITV Studios, and Vaudeville Productions, all episodes are available on ITV X in the UK and BritBox in the US and Canada.
