Silva Classics proudly announces the release of Imitation Games Vol. 4, the fourth instalment in its acclaimed series of cinematic reimaginings, performed by London Music Works and cellist/conductor Nick Squires.
The new album showcases a powerful collection of re-recorded themes from film, television, and contemporary classics – but at its heart is the first single, Rooting For You. Originally by London Grammar, the track has been reimagined as an instrumental feature with Nick Squires’ cello taking the place of Hannah Reid’s haunting vocal. The result is a moving, intimate performance that feels both instantly recognisable and refreshingly new, highlighting the expressive range of the instrument and Squires’ artistry as a soloist.
Alongside Rooting For You, the album explores a wide spectrum of modern screen music. From Hans Zimmer’s ticking intensity in Tick-Tock (Interstellar) and the brooding darkness of Corynorhinus (Batman Begins), to Michael Giacchino’s tender Bundle of Joy (Inside Out) and Ennio Morricone’s timeless Nostalgia (Cinema Paradiso), Imitation Games Vol. 4 offers a journey through cinematic soundscapes that is both epic and deeply personal.
With London Music Works’ signature orchestral clarity and Nick Squires’ emotive leadership, the performances transform these beloved themes into stand-alone concert pieces, bridging the worlds of film music and contemporary classical.
